44 second - Deep Sensitivity
Lately, serendipity seems to have become my closest friend, bringing me new and exciting projects, as if on a whim, saving me from the tedious drudgery that is my workday. And what a save it was! With its ‘Deep Sensitivity’, 44 second got me on a hook, and I didn’t even think to wriggle, mesmerized by the sounds coming from my headphones. I simply cannot resist such tunes, especially considering the scarcity of good music in this genre, which I think is a real shame.
Simply speaking, 44 second offers the best of the tribal/ritual industrial sort, akin to what we could hear from This Morn’ Omina, i.e. strong, dynamic tunes, not without the depth characteristic for this kind of music. At the same time, ‘Deep Sensitivity’ is free of fillers and prolonged, monotonous parts, which considering length of the LP being over an hour, is an obvious advantage. Each track on the album has a unique feature, be it sampled voice part or a distinctive tribal drum beat, all successful at drawing listener’s attention. However, it is the omnipresent element of trance that functions as a cohesive linchpin for the entire album. As such, ‘Deep Sensitivity’ may appear as one, lengthy, twisted tune, which additionally ends almost as quickly as it starts. Yes, listening to 44 second makes you lose track of time, especially when replaying the album a few times in a row.
Frankly, I cannot find anything I don’t like about the project, though I did try my best to do so. Some, of course, may complain about the mentioned length, but that’s a strictly subjective matter. Those interested (and those not yet convinced) should visit the Polish website Antyscena.pl, where one can listen to the entire album for free and form an opinion of their own. Wholeheartedly recommending.
