The thing about autumn is that, it is shrouded in nostalgia and it brings us closer to art and literature, enhancing at the same time our willingness to bury ourselves in everything what might broaden our minds and our range of interests. And that is why, when it is cold and windy outside and the weather is bad, we shut ourselves away with pleasure and we “set out on a trip” listening to some sounds of different albums. I would like to outline briefly the remarkable world created by Black Wedding (Louis Zachert and Francisc Vanherle), thanks to their new album.
Real art- that was my first thought after hearing the first track from “11000 Virgins”. To my great surprise, not only is it pleasant to the ear but also the album introduces a breath of fresh air – and this enigmatic introduction only fuels our curiosity. I have to admit, that the rest of the album, just as the first song – “Introitus”, is also worthy of attention.
The music is timeless and what is more, it mixes both the echo of the past years with the present. How is it possible? Those Belgian artists took a brave decision and set up a new style of music that differs from conventional projects. Medieval songs, percussion that sounds a bit oriental, weird rhythm and the whole range of synthetic sounds form one whole – which turns out to be fit both for the dance floor and for listening in the privacy of our homes. The album is noteworthy for music experts and those who want to take a rest from more conventional trends. I highly recommend it!
