Krępulec emerged as an impact of the creators of dark ambient and noise – Wojciech Zięba (also known from Infamis and Beast of Prey) and Grzegorz Siedlecki (responsible for a project named Totenhaus).
Their new release entitled New Radical comprises a continuation of the unique sound of Krępulec, simultaneously emphasizing their national ideas and showing their own, distinctive style. The lack of vocals is definitely worth noticing in this case – the only thing that has been used are samples. However, the battle sounds do not include any traditional speeches given by Mr. Adolf, nor little refrains sung by a troop of fair-haired soldiers - the history was presented through the prism of The Polish war and guerilla songs of the 1st and 2nd World War.
We look at the times of the War with the eyes of the soldiers. Echoes of guitars and an accordion, whose melodies would strengthen morale of the allies on the lookout, reverberate through the air. At the same time, the soldiers are teeming with truly immense supplies of anxiety – the dream seems to have been an enjoyable reminiscence of a march in the light of the Sun, as well as a disagreeable thought heralding the misery of the socialistic era.
After the introduction, played on a trumpet, of a track entitled Salute, were are taken aback with the sounds of guitars and synthesizers. The presence of the accordion brings associations with a French band Dernière Volonté.
A tranquil beginning – slow rhythm, synthesizers and keys are demolished for a moment by an introduction of gloomily tuned synths.
Kongres Jedności is somewhat a polka inspired by neofolk, plyed on the accordion, synthesizers and drums. The thought about the past is also following the same path as the previous track – yet its structure grows all the more interesting as the piece unfurls, it gets less retrospective and more emotional.
Ruch ludowy brings yet another variant of neopolka, however with the addition of certain variations to the rhythm. Tango turns out to be… a real tango (any surprises?) in fact, played on the old record player, where that peculiar medley of tunes echoes continuously about the past.
Poznań, on the other hand, is the most disturbing piece, mainly predominated by semi-industrial sound.

To sum up, we are given a very interesting amalgamation of the elements of martial industrial and neofolk. Even if the melodies may seem repetitive, both rhythm and synths mesmerize. Hence, this record is by all means a remarkable one.
