Well done!!! Absolute applause for the Lebanon Hanover duo for recording a dark, scarcely in means of expression, but a very distinctive album, which turned out to be "Besides the Abyss". As you can see a new wave is not dead!

That the duo creates emotional music, sad, nihilistic and cold, know all experts of the matter. The fact that, their songs are rather not complicated melodically and rhythmically, additionally embellished with an appropriate dose of rattling guitars is probably obvious,  considering previous recordings. Does the latest release change something in this matter? Of course not! Is it an accusation? Absolutely not!
Let's be honest - the album is similar to the previous one "Tomb For Two" - in fact, it is difficult for me to indicate any specific stylistic changes. It seems to me the songs are more depressing - but maybe it is just my subjective feeling. However, no matter how it is – the duo failed to record a more hit-like track (if you can say about hits in context of this kind of music) since the cult one "Gallowdance". But it does not change the fact that "Besides The Abyss" is simply the most interesting group’s achievement.
Best songs? In the first place definitely the opening "Hollow Sky". Next sequentially "The Crater" and "The Chamber". All three of them are tracks, in my opinion, most involving, best arranged and what is most important - the strongest emotionally... In the end that is how they should be in the intention of musicians - passionate.

What can I add? It seems to me that in case of Lebanon Hanover’s music it is more about experiencing than writing about. And to absorb these tracks and experience you have to listen to the whole album... Then start to listen!
