Dark wave darlings Lebanon Hanover will perform in Denmark for the very first time, supported by the local bands Melting Walkmen and Kold Front, and followed by some night club escapism for all you nihilists and romantics out there.
This night will also serve as a support event for the Sidereal Dreams festival taking place in October, so come by to wish Totentanz a farewell and help the new festival establish itself.
Since the formation in 2010, Larissa Iceglass and William Maybelline have provided the world with haunted dark wave and post-punk, and established themselves as front runners of a new generation of midnight creatures. Several releases through Fabrika Records have provided the dim dancefloors with instant classics such as 'Gallowdance', 'Hollow Sky', and, most recently, 'Babes of the 80's'.
Inspired by the beauty of art nouveau and William Wordsworth, as well as a fascination with British shorelines and Berlin urbanism, they unveil a stoic disdain for the indifference that is the 21st century, while through romaticism and gallows humour create a sonic escape for the alienated youth and broken dreamers. A bleak - yet romantic - view of a wounded world.
This is the first time Lebanon Hanover pay the urban wastelands of Copenhagen a visit, after having performed sold out shows around the globe, including the Wave Gotik Treffen, Amphi, and Grauzone festivals.
The Copenhagen post-punk group have for almost a decade provided the city with lamenting guitar shrieks and groaning rhythms, but never gained the deserved regonition of the youth obsessed mainstream media outlets like Politiken and Soundvenue. They released the 'VertiGo-Go' album last year, followed by the online EP 'Skin' back in March.
Local trio Kold Front take their cue from French cold wave, German gothic rock, and synth heavy post-punk. Electronic drums and synths tangled up with pulsating bass-lines, effect-filled guitar, and Danish lyrics, not completely unlike Danish cult groups Moral and Pesteg Dred. 2016 saw them release a split 12" with the now defunct MOTH.
