The moment I put the CD to the CD player an I heard the first sounds of „Interlude” starting the Polish edition of the CD „Breathing Avenue” ( European version's track list order is different), I knew that I won't be able to put the album aside for a long time. At least I found a promising and fantastic debut I've been waiting for so long.
„Breathing Avenue”, which is equally interesting from the beginning to an end, although relatively new, evokes memories from the youth and represents all what is the best and essential for synthpop. Often sharply criticized and accused of plagiarism, is still one of the best sold CDs both in Poland and abroad.
While listening to the CD we won't escape comparing it to the best synthpop groups in the world, like for example to De/Vision, yet in this case the influence of the well-known artists is not disadvantage: it invites the listener to the wold of even greater synthpop mode. Clear and strong Daniel's vocal and unbelievably energetic and stimulating music of Mathias are unforgettable combination of pleasant sounds.
Definitely the worst track is the one ending the CD, namely „Epilog”, which makes impression of added at a push and not worked out to the end, just as if Minerve put a half-done piece there only to fill the CD up. However, the CD isn't boring even after multiple listening to it. I strongly recommend it to all synthpop fans. I personally give it 90% and I'm impatiently waiting for the next Mathias and Daniel's release!
