Few days ago a new netlabel has appeared founded by members of the Wroclaw's project, Bodycall. Up till now it associates twelve Polish projects of dark electro: Compulsive Shopping Disorder, Controlled Collapse, Cultoid, Lily of the Valley, Monstergod, Reactor7x, Red Emprez, RSM, Skon, Synchropath, Unsinn and Bodycall. Our magazine supports such kind of iniciatives, so certainly more than once you will read in our contents news about albums which are going to be edited by Halotan Records. And here's what the founders themselves write about their new idea:

"Halotan Record emerged as an own-brand label of Bodycall band. Originally it was meant to be just a brand used to give Bodycall's releases more credibility. However, an idea surfaced to use this brand to help other bands out, especially those at the very beginning of their career. This is how Halotan Records started as an independent entity.

There is a gap between an unsigned band and a band signed to a traditional - even independent - label. Independent labels are nowdays extremely cautious when it comes to releasing new music. High cost associated with short CD runs and promotion restrict even excellent bands from accessing wider audience. Not having the fan base, a band is not attractive for any label. They do not have the fan base, because they can not get an official release. This is a vicious circle, which we want to break."
