Four-disc release which is a sum-up of twenty years of artistic work of Johan van Roy. No one who values music from around dark electro should be disappointed with it. Except of 3 CDs with music the release includes a DVD with video clips and fragments of concerts.
The compilation itself includes all the greatest "hits" of Suicide Commando. Some of it is presented in original arrangement, some in other bands' remixes (e.g Grendel, :sitd:, Wumpscut, Spetsnaz, X-Fusion, Soman) and some in both. The first CD with thirteen tracks is dedicated to remixes. It has to be admitted that presented tracks gained a new sound however this metamorphosis is not unexpected. It is hard to tell whether it was an intention to keep all remixes in the same stylistics as original versions or the artists, who work with a similar music genre as Suicide Commando, lack the ideas for more interesting arrangements. And the last track on the CD is going to convince you.
The second CD is filled with original tracks. It consists of fifteen compositions. Nothing more to say - it's dark and energetic. Habitués of synth parties probably had the occasion to listen to most of it in a stroboscope lights and now it can all be found at one disc.
There is the third CD of which little can be said as it contains nothing worthwhile. It includes five featureless remixes among which three relate to one song (remixed on the first CD).
To sum up, the compilation is not musically exploratory but is a successful idea. It will be a pleasure to faithful Suicide Commando fans as well as a quite complete section of works to those who are not acquainted with the artist's musical activity.
