Biography:

Serpentoria is a term combined of two elements: serpent-ori(a). The first element refers to the Latin word "serpent", and is the name of snake in a religious and mythological context. The second element is derived from the word, "ori" literally meaning "head," which refers to one's spiritual intuition and destiny. It is the reflective spark of human consciousness embedded into the human essence in Yoruba tradition.

Undoubtedly a bizarre personality of an old fashioned gentleman with vampiric inclinations make Serpentor Ia an exceptional character. Inseparably, his art and soul, should be considered as a reflection of human anxieties and their sinful desires. Blasphemous nature of his works often resembles us the lost innocence and purity, that are one of his main subjects.

Works of Serpentoria oscillate somewhere between dark ambient, neo classical and neo folk, with noticeable inspirations among artists like Atrium Carceri and Desideri Marginis, but they are also connected to Wongraven and Pazuzu. Serpentoria’s music is also influenced by movie and classical music.

A successful debut, “Withering Hopes” has received good reception from the most influential dark ambient webzines. Coming soon, at Walpurgisnacht 2007 is the premiere of “Withering Hopes” successor, which will be, according to the artist, a significant step forward in his music development.
