I only knew some songs by Art Diktator, which I found on YouTube. 'Devrim' and 'Kırsal' are really great. The voice of the singer is perhaps something to get used to, but with a creative blend of darkwave and EBM and catchy melodies Art Diktator are, beside the glorious She Past Away, among the stars of Turkish darkwave. That's why I couldn't wait to listen to their recent disc Ultimo Disco Inferno, on which, however, their style changed dramatically towards a future pop/techno sound. I have to admit that I liked their older songs more than their new ones. But that is, of course, only a matter of taste.
The music of Art Diktator is now mostly oriented towards dancability. It is beat and rhythm-based, easy-going and not too complex. Mainly it reminds of dance-floor at the end of the 90's. What makes it different is the exclusive use of the Turkish language, which makes it somehow exotic.
The problem I have with the album is that (even after repeated exposure to it) I wouldn't be able to recall one song in my inner radio. For those of you, who like harsh beats and techno loops, the album could be still worth a listen (or a dance).
Tracklist:
01. Peri Kizi
02. Serseri
03. Hayvan
04. Cakallar Aleminde Orta Malisin
05. Zehir
06. Kazazede
