Art of Empathy - Evening Sessions

The Low Countries have always been the seedbed of strange musical ideas. The same is this time. The Art Of Empathy is a Belgian project. Though it is a one-man development, his author, Jef Janssen, expresses his gratitude towards two people: his wife Ann, and his friend who deals with the computer aspects of the Art Of Empathy. As the author assures, he would not be able to finish the work on the album without their help.
The "Evening Sessions" is a remarkably autumnal album. For rainy mornings (to stay in a warm bed). And for the longer and longer October and November evenings (to hole up in a snug little room with pseudo-windy music playing in the background). Winter dances on this record, wind lulls to sleep, and darkness unfolds before the listener the multidimensional expanses of its pleasures.
It seems that the Art Of Empathy is, above all else, an ubiquitous whisper. Whispered melorecitations. The wind, lulling… Also, the composer's wife appears on the album as a guest, brightening up with her voice some of the compositions. Children's voices can also be heard, as well as generated artificial sounds which simulate some, unnecessarily friendly, dark personages…
The artist has made his "Evening Sessions" available on his website, as well as on his MySpace profile. Free of charge! And strongly recommended! Especially as a musical background for evening wine-sessions…
