​I must admit, when I heard that Bill Leeb was going solo, it was quite an event. I was even more surprised to learn he would be collaborating with Canadian post-punkers ACTORS. "Model Kollapse" will be released on September 13, 2024, by Metropolis Records, and we just received the first sample - "Terror Forms" (Feat. ACTORS). The track features Bill, Shannon Hemmett (ACTORS, LEATHERS), and possibly Jason Corbett on vocals. It’s difficult to categorize its sound—a mix of futuristic soundtrack vibes and fast-paced industrial elements, layered with various vocal styles. The song combines delicate female vocals, distorted male vocals, dialogues, and vocal duels, all against a rapid electronic backdrop. It abruptly ends, leaving you wondering what you just experienced. It's intriguing, fast-paced, and stunning, but whether this collaboration will succeed remains to be seen. The track exhibits FLA's sharpness and rawness, but Shannon’s delicate vocals sometimes get lost in the melodic density. The whole piece feels like a tangle of barbed wire with roses scattered throughout. There is definitely sound terror, but I’m still unsure if it’s captivating for good. I am eagerly waiting for more.
