Cryogenic Echelon is an Australian project of Gerard Hawkins, cooperating with Ayax Ascension who was responsible for singing, music and lyrics and Antonio Jiménez who helped with graphic things. "Fall of the reptiles" is their debut EP. It contains 6 (including intro) tracks and 4 remixes of "Hate Yourself". It was released by Ruch Pod in August 2011.

Intro "Respite", which is silent but very distressing, introduces us perfectly to the first proper track of the CD, namely "Fall of the reptiles". This is the song which starts with modified female voice, that announces the whole song and also punctuates it therefore making it even more atmospheric, distressingly energetic.
"Hate Yourself" is a track which we hear in different versions several times on this EP. The song itself is nothing special. For me its best version is a depressive remix "Dawn of Ashes". In my opinion it’s better than the original one. Listening to the remixes we can also pick up dance version [Rythmhead remix], synth-pop one [blast radius remix] and one interlarded with synthesizer sounds [digital deformation remix]. In "Deep in ecstasy" the piano, vocal and lyrics create very romantic mix. "I kill the camera" is the most dancing track of the release. It must be noticed that as majority of the tracks it is not sung but recited, but for me it’s an extra advantage. "Fucking money", started by female vocal, perfectly closes the main part of the EP. Aggressive vocal combined with operatic aria makes this song my favourite and just "I want my fucking money".

With pleasure I wait, I will wait for Cryogenic Echelon album.
