A little over a year and a half took Adrian Hates to save diary pages and binding his lirycs in music. 12 songs came into being closed on a disc titled "If". After hearing the first-I asked myself whether there is a doctor in the courtroom? Patient-Diary of Dreams-needed resuscitation. But with each time sounds were flowing from the disc it reached to me that patient has a pretty big chance of survival. "The Wedding"opens the album. A song which easily fall into the memory. Adrian sings the same as in the "Rumors about angels." Simple in composition, even banal. For me the weakest point of the album. The next track is more calm. It's "Requiem 4.21". It corresponds to the first song from the previous album (Nekrolog 43). The chorus well immersed in the electronic version and the beauty guitar solo at the end. Only Diary can create that kind of connection and make sounds that remain in your brain. Later the guitars come to fore. Everything starts with a quiet introduction, the 'Odyssey Asylum. ".Track with their chorus in a rock design. The wording of the guitar last further as the melodic lines of "Poison breed" flow next. Everything fits perfectly to rock on a dance flor.In this part of the album track 5. - "Wahn! Sinn?"distinguish. Cold strings struggling greets us and the strong impact in the snare drum and muffled voice Adriana, reciting all in way which not even Till Lindemann (Rammstein)would be ashamed of. The whole song stylistically very similar to the Rammstein compositions. It should be mentioned also that the number 5 on the album is not the only song in which the analogy to other performers can be found. A good example would be "Choir hotel", which in my view could be put safely on the album by Blutengel or L'ame Immortelle. Very strong performance and dance beat. My attention focused "Mind over Matter". The real catharsis for this album. It is a dark, overwhelming with emotional content song. So personal, that in the end there is a declamation and takes the form of a conversation with his own alter ego. And for the end "Kingdom of Greed." Very good, climate and poetic goodbye with "If". For long ago I didn't heard in Diary music something as magical. Made up of piano sounds, echos and whispers with filling all the space rings. Which confirms that my initial assessment was far from how it should be. You can say that in a certain sense its an experimental album. On the other hand,Diary remembers the past -of earlier achievements and borrows some solutions between them and putting in a new form. "If" is rich in pleasing sounds and the power of electronic with guitar expression. It is a good connectiob, which has been supporting their music. But this time everything is more spacious than it was on "Nekrolog 43".
