No one expected this: after 35 years Cologne based Alternative and Post Punk Band Escape with Romeo release an album that sounds like a fresh start. "Suspicious Bliss" has a raw sound and an unique atmosphere: Pounding Beats, distorted guitars, out of this world vocoders and synths.
Since their reunion and reorganization in 2022 Thomas Elbern found a new momentum in songwriting. "Suspicious Bliss" looks into the now and offers a sharp dystopic view of the world in which we are living.It’s EWR’s best, most comprehensive album that captures the energy the band lives on stage. "Post punk meets modern electronica", that was a description of the EWR sound back in the days and proves to be real with "Suspicious Bliss".
