In spheres interested in [electro]jazz words ‘mixed by Jazzanova’ are a synonym of perfection. Since it appeared to the public it has been becoming more and more popular and sought-after. And here their album ‘best of’ is released – ‘Jazzanova – The Remixes 1997-2000’. Chosen by the musicians personally pieces which were ‘worked on’ are genius in their own right, let alone after being subject to proper processing. I have to admit that hardly anyone mastered the art of remixing as well as Jazzanova did. The whole is divides into two parts – on the first you can find more lively pieces. Everything balanced and of a very good standard. Up-tempo pieces blend with mid-temp and others, everything linked with each other with a noticeable motif of high- quality jazz. On the second disc definitely more peaceful and full of specific climate are put, designed for listening to in one’s own house rather than in the pub. Personally I prefer the second one – I think that simply it contains the idea of the New-jazz. Everything altogether kept in very good and pleasant for the ears rhythm. If someone doesn’t like jazz, probably even after listening to that album will not like it. And the album was not designed for that. „The remixes 1997 – 2000” is just to show the quality of Jazzanova and it does. I am only afraid that it will be appreciated only by the regular listeners of jazz and its new varieties.
