Common tours with e.g. Project Pitchfork and Rammstein. It was the fact that encouraged me to acquaint with the newest work from Kevorkian Death Cycle, because, despite rich discography, with this name I have not met yet... Another thing, that made me curious, was the cover of "It's A Sin" song from Pet Shop Boys. I was so intrigued by fact, that I did not know how will in KDC performance fall that idyllic hit from the '80s. The band, however, cope out with this situation perfectly - "It's A Sin" still resembles the original one (which, believe me, in nowadays alterations, it is not so obvious), though it lost a bit of its "forced" in the original one optimism for the industrial and dark atmosphere. The climate is appearing on the whole album - starting from a kind of "cosmic" "Star Chaser" with a bit of a hazy sound, to a slower, heavy and almost overwhelming "Light Fields" in the end. Listening to "God Am I", attention should be drawn also to the typical party, hit like, though still dark "Blood Of Faust" or "Destroyer of Worlds" - at the right moments gaining aggression, in others showing the industrial - electronic skeleton of Kevorkian Death Cycle. In addition the album of such group could not lack of recently popular theme as kids... I am saying obviously about fantastic "Children Of Chaos" in a kind of German style of Terminal Choice or even more gothic groups (especially in terms of text layer). This track thanks to reverberations and whispers in the background gained a disturbing climate, which in combination with a kind of a melancholy chorus gives a feeling of some spiritual discomfort... what is interesting, on the "God Am I" there are no weak moments. There are only average ones as 'too excessed' "Shadow", the title one "God Am I" (here the industrial sound can be felt too much) or, for some unknown reason, praised "Mind Decay". But as you know - no one is perfect... "God Am I" definitely keeps the level of the previous achievements of Kevorkian Death Cycle (as you may guess, I catch up the backlogs), and that material is certainly worth attention. Although sometimes you can not avoid comparisons with other artists, the music of Americans still sounds as fresh, dark and original. Only finish with these children, as it is beginning to be too commercial...
