Lingua Fungi - Flowery Dreams

I wouldn't recommend listening to this CD in a far-from-euphoria state. The title "Flowery Dream", although sounding very positive, is far from musical happiness and moody lucidity. Sadness and happiness are joined on it by an inseparable dance.

It consists of medieval and oriental (or maybe native American) sounds. They build dark-trance and wintery-depressive walls in musical space. Everything drowns in a restless sea of sounds from other worlds. Lingua Fungi offers a semi-conscious jorney through the dark side of human psyche.

The listener can suddenly become aware of being imperceptibly taken on a magical journey sliding between dream and reality. The dreamy atmosphere of "Flowery Dreams" makes it appropriate for sleepwalkers. Not necessarily as background music to falling asleep.

I feel a certain insufficency, even though it's unjustified. An impression of ruining a chance to create music that absorbs one's attention even more. Maybe it's because Lingua Fungi is a one-man project. It's author and shaman in one is a Finn - Jaako Padatsu.
