"Bug Life" is the first longplay crowning the American project of James Ashley under pompous sounding title Sinsect. The album was released by the Crunch Pod label. According to the author of the project "Bug Life" record is supposed to take listener on a neurotic journey that is exploring pain in every possible form. However, strong and at the same time dirty bass sound, noise melodic line and finally incredible rhythm of the tracks are inherently supposed to introduce the listener to a music trance, from which it is hard to release from. Indeed, the "Bug Life" takes us on a disturbing journey to nowhere, from which there is no escape. On this trip you can explore fear at every possible level of perception, especially the audible one. Ten excellent pieces, properly diversified, but yet perfectly matching each other, build a remarkable record, which will be appreciated by anyone, who loves the strong beat enhanced with power-noise melody. It is known after listening of the entire album, that axis of the whole project is almost obsessive interest in a characteristic sound issued by the insects. Ominous buzzing seems to have no end and no limits in intensity. Also a kind of a visualization, that is born when you hear the first notes, is so suggestive, that the listener wants to escape from the monstrous insect. While the realm of music is perfectly polished, the vocal sphere seems to be uneven. One time there is too much of it, other time it is not enough. Sometimes it does not fit entirely to shattering melodies, which are able to cope alone. Despite that "Bug Life" is an excellent album, that definitely promises another great musical achievements of the Sinsect project.
