The Well of Sadness terrifies with the name itself, announces a sort of katharsis, the music one will have to immerse in to hear its depth. A record entitled:I'm uprooted from it" confirms these fears from the very first sounds: overwhelming ambient compositions, piercing throbs of drums, excessively meticulously-ordered tunes. Devoided of overdone noises or coerced dramatism. Each track is a seperate masterpiece, has its own distinctive atmosphere. One will find a variety of strictly martial, apocalyptic, neofolk or neoclassical pieces on the record. The sound of synths and not-that-mild a voice of Daniele Giustra are typical of this project. We travel through war-related themes (such as violin "la Marche" or rather brutal in terms of sounds "From The Bunker"), only to end up savoring the tunes of spiritual war ("Tonight you will dream that somebody will see you happy", declared in an emotionless manner in an exquisite piece "The First and the Last"). The Well of Sadness consists of compositions for those who enjoy the misery. Thereby a disarming overture in the form of "End" leaves a listener purged and purified, dazzled by impressions he or she has just pervaded them.
