For all the music fans out there, who still buy V.A. albums, Wave Klassix Vol. 6 could be of interest for you. Most of the bands appearing on this disc are anything else but unknown. But, who knows, maybe you'll find one or the other gem?
Most of the songs on the compilation have in common a persistent and catchy melody. The 14 tracks of the album are from different genres of new wave, like goth rock, darkwave, post-punk or minimal synth wave, "klassix" from the old times (the 80's). Giants like Absolute Body Control, The Danse Society or ClockDVA share the space with lesser known acts like Snowy Red or Glasfabrik.
What can I say more? I enjoyed the album as a whole as well as piece by piece. The track-order has been well chosen, is monolithic. My personal favourites are "Moan on the Sky" by Parade Ground and "The Light of Day" by Dominion. Actually, I cannot find anything negative about this album, and also the 6th part of the Wave Klassix series by Wave Records has a selection of my most favoured musical acts from the 80's. Maybe they could work over the front cover, though.
