Film, music and performance. Contemporary art.
Film. Nowadays, probably one of the most often chosen by artists medium of communication. With it you can attack potential recipient not only visually, but also give them listening experience. In short, trying to get to it from any angle. It doesn’t get to me though. Accumulation of images, words and sounds that don’t seem to have anything in common, don’t match. Moon, watching the nature program with a dull expression on a face, uttering a monologue in a clearly outraged voice while swimming in the lake... experience with contemporary art has taught me that message is always important and often hidden deeply. For me, unfortunately, it lies too deep.
Music. Electronic, mechanical, sharp. Art of showing how much noise you can get from a computer. A cacophony of sounds, usually high, metallic. A battle between the frequencies, intensities and timbres. High grating supplemented by ghostly substitute of acoustic instruments and low bass vibration. Cosmic chaos evoking light years spent traversing the void of the universe, finishing with longed-for landing with the sounds of electric ringing. Quite an interesting experience.
Performance. I'm sure that its message was as deep as the previously presented film. But I couldn’t stop wondering if the artist’s head would spin enough for him to tip over. Old photo in the background and in the foreground a man contrasting with it. War of generations? Getting lost in the mundane world? Weltschmerz? Twisted reality? Yes, I think that’s the interpretation which I choose.
