A number of bands, whose works I currently praise and glorify in every way possible, comprises a resultant of sheerly accidental range of listenings, subconscious clicks being a result of the search for the sound nourishment, which would satisfy my own musical hunger, annoying me in its entirety, almost chronically. The thing was no different in the case of Bloodgroup - an Icelandic band which successfully blends warm synthetic sounds with pulsating beats and is at present taking the European music market by nothing other than the storm. Nonetheless, the credit for it may just as well be given to the vocalists of the group - Sunna and Janus - after all, wonderfully chosen tonalities of their voices constitute an extraordinarily important component of the band's overall sound; the voices simply enchant with their original combination, as well as smoothing and mesmerizing power - the pure love at first listen. No wonder how inconceivably intense was my surprise when I found out that such a promising band was intending to visit Poland: on 1st February they performed at "Pod Minogą" in Poznań, then the day after they cast a total spell on a group of fans gathered at "Re" club in Kraków, where I also had a great pleasure to see how effectively Bloodgroup charms.

From a truly reliable source of information, I learnt that on the previous day the band was received in an exceptionally enthusiastic way: the news about lively interaction with the audience, unusual charisma, which the group members were emanating with and the energy, whose circulation remained on the same, high level throughout the show, allowed me to incline optimistically towards the event and made me truly impatient about it. Luckily, the awaiting passed indescribably fast; just a few minutes before 9 PM I found myself in the concert hall of "Re" which by the time had already been filled with the crowd, immensely hungry for sonic sensations.
The appearance of a cloud of smoke, which covered the stage before you could blink, heralded the proper beginning of the show. Then, the four of musicians emerged, accompanied by an overenthusiastic round of yells of the audience. The commencement of the gig was marked by slightly subtle "Wars", which was followed by dynamically vibrating "First to Go"; in "How Do We Know", a disturbing voice of Sunna was in the lead, however the chorus sang by Janus constituted a perfect contrast and dazzling complement to the overall impression. Again, the liveliness of the atmosphere occurred by means of hit and danceable pieces: "This Heart" and "Overload", promoting the latest release of the band. The concert would have not been complete, if it had lacked a track, which would fully show both sound and lyrical capabilities of the band: by writing so I have "My Arms" in mind, which was performed in such an unusually perfect manner, that it surpassed all my expectations, leaving no shadow of doubt with regard to the highest class of performance, presented by Bloodgroup.
It should be noted that there was an inseparable emotional bond between the musicians and the gathered: humorous remarks and a delight of the Icelands over Polish women, beverages and, nota bene, our familiar Prince Polo, left the audience outstandingly well-disposed. Many songs played as an encore may be perceived as the undeniable 'thank-you' bow towards the attendees of the event: either emotional or energetic boiling point was exceeded with such tracks as "Battered", "Safety Dance" or:try on", yet even after such an immensely narcotic dose of sound pleasures, the fans were greedily craving for an extra dose.

Indubitably, both concerts of Bloodgroup were characterized by similarly intensified level of emotions, incessantly circulating in the air, the magical atmosphere of intimacy with the band and, first and foremost, the unusual array of perfectly composed sounds and melodies, which, when combined with the exceptionally good lyrical layer, created the out-of-the-ordinary whole, which was beguiling each and every attendee, from the very beginning to the very end. The remarkable impressions, which left their trace on me, are surely going to be difficult to outweigh by any other band. Bloodgroup fascinates, dazzles and deludes musically; I dare to think that the majority of the audience gleefully and involuntarily gave in to the charm of the group that managed to take us to the world of sonic oblivion, for a couple of wonderful moments.
