It is true that taking part in competitions can be profitable. Especially if you participate in the Best Unsigned Gothic Act International competition at Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, in May 2005.

Delight from Skawina, a town near Krakow, was the only Polish band taking part in the compo organized by Roadrunner Records. What's more, the group won the whole thing! As a reward, they got to record a record in English under the guidance of a renowned produced. Delight chose Rhys Fulber (who worked with Fear Factory and Paradise Lost, and created his own music in Front Line Assembly and Delerium). You can hear quality production from the first sounds of "Breaking Ground". The album contains 12 pieces: 7 are new songs, while 5 are alternate versions of songs released on "Anew" ("Od Nowa"). The music brings some influences from Evanescence (e.g. in "Sleep With The Light On"). Paulina's wonderful voice works great in ballads - take "Fire" and "Juliet" as examples.

Delight prove to be a developing band. With a bit of luck on the side. Melodic rock music coupled with electronica. Numerous ornamental samples and electronic intrusions. A few potential hits. If only radio channels broadcasted such music on air...
