Evelynne is a young Czech group playing mix of indie rock and electronic music. The group was formed in Prague in 2007. Right now Evelynne consist of five talented guys: (Eddie - vocals, guitar, synthesizer, Mejla –bass, second vocal, Molliy – electric guitar, Lukas – drums, Zdeněk – synthesizer).
The group plays their own songs, and because of enrichment by synthesizer the tracks have an original electronic-dance sound.
Innovative performances that give a large amount of energy and bring the audience into a state of euphoria are undoubtedly their trademark.
Beginnings of the group weren’t so easy. The members tried to break through in the Czech music market by all possible ways. They played concerts in a lot of Prague’s clubs, tried to form very optimal composition and searched for their own style of sound. However, hard work hasn’t brought the expected results.
November 2012 is a breakthrough for Evelynne. The group with its new composition released their debut album "Anonymity". Members of the group refer this event as the official start of Evelynne’s career.
Album "Anonymity" contains eleven songs and one remix. All of the songs are characterized by incredible dynamics and melody.
Ten songs are in English. Only the song "V Zajetí" is entirely sung in Czech.
Single that promotes the whole album is a song "D.N.A.", which has also been made as the official video of Evelynne. The video was directed by the famous director Martin Linhart.
"Mr Shallow", "Drifter" and "Tripping on a danceflor" are the songs that deserve special attention. Except a catchy tune, these songs also have interesting lyrics.
It’s worth to say that the title of the album was not accidentally chosen. The members of the group found that by this name, they will no longer be anonymous, they will open up to new fans, and develop a new position for themselves on the Czech music scene.
Also in 2012, Evelynne with their video for the song "D.N.A." was a part of the popular music contest Český YouTube Fest. They took the fourth place and were appreciated by the eminent Czech jury, but also by youtube users who voted for their favorites for more than two weeks.
The prize was the opportunity to participate in the popular international festival "Rock For People", held every year in the town of Hradec Králové.
It wasn’t the only award that the team Evelynne won in 2012. The guys were also able to win the third edition of the Broumov kytara (2011-2012), to qualify to the semi-finals of the prestigious competition RGM Live Space and to become finalists in the international music festival International Live Awards held in Vienna.
They also appeared in music television Očko and in the music box in the largest television station in the Czech Republic ČT 2.
After they have established a cooperation with the agency Ameba Project and music publishing company Championship Music; several possibilities have been opened before the group.
One of the most important was undoubtedly working with respected producer Boris Carloffem, who helped the guys to prepare material for a new album.
The results of this nearly year-long collaboration will be able to know on December of this year, when the album "Identity" will come out.
The truth is that the band Evelynn has everything what a good group in these days should has. The guys are young, talented, have their own unconventional style and no lack of great potential. This is undoubtedly one of the most promising Czech groups, that the development should be closely monitored.
