- Nowy album HIM już 30 kwietnia! - 2013-04-01
After the success of their first album "Greates Lovesongs vol. 666" the Finnish band became known and now time has come to conquer all of Europe. I must say that it came out quaite good because the boys created an album more competitive than the previous. 11 very melodious songs overflowed with keyboards-guitars motifs perfectly fitted to the music-tastes of the listeners. Similary to a subject of lyrics turning around threads of existence directed to love and death.
The first song promotes the album "Razorblade Romance" and came out a long time before the premire is "Join Me in Death"- absolute hit of the year 2000. I beg to say that this song simultaneously placed in the sound track of "The Thirteenth Floor" movie, (currently there are 3 versions of the musicvideo i.a. the one with fragments from the movie came out as the first oficial musicvideo). However the album opens with the heavy rock track "I Love You (Prelude to Tragedy)" which can mislead because it is the heaviest and the most "disarranged" song on this album. Right after a bit low-key but similar "Poison Girl". Later there are only pleasurable hits as above mentioned "Join Me in Death" or heavier played "Right Here in My Arms" which remind a little of the older creativity, though already now it is visible that more considered. Among all these songs it is hard not to find something for oneself. An extra asset is the strong voice of the vocalist, who skilfully adapts to sing the words and to the music. This is adding more magic and charm to ballads like "Gone With the Sin" or "One Last Time" fitting for a lullaby before going to sleep. At the end it is worth to mention that the producer of this album is John Fryer known of the cooperation with groups like Nine Inch Nails, White Zombie or Depeche Mode. Therefor it is easy to find influnces of some of the mentioned groups as Depeche Mode in a song "Bury Me Deep Inside Your Heart" where the keyboard moments remind me of those from "Enjoy The Silence".
To round it up HIM presents to us an album rather gentle in comparsion with "Greates Lovesongs vol. 666". It is missing some "dirty" elements which they treated us with before. Because of that I can state this album has a quaite large comercial potencial. But still from Finnish band comes the same charm as before making us delighted over this album and we don`t want to be without it.
