After last year's outstanding EP „Crown of Emotions" the trio from Szczecin, Hot Rain, strikes with long play album. And it is – on native electro-synth pop scene – a very decent strike.
In times when a lot of artists become pseudo artists covering the lack of ideas for music ,and attracting the listeners' attention, with makeup, naughty and dark gadgets, sexcesses or the overgrowth of form, Hot Rain does its own and follows the way chosen, it seems, at the beginning of its existence.
The important in case of Hot Rain's music melody, adjacent to female vocal, dominates almost every song. Many of the compositions on "Rights of Love" could have been released as singles. They are coldly synthesized, melodic songs built on electro rhythm and decorated with female voice. This is still a good recipe for an interesting music. I just hope that in case of Hot Rain it will be a recipe for a success. And even though one can hear inspirations in their music it cannot be said that it is a copy of something or someone else. The America wasn't discovered this time (it would be hard to do so nowadays – not only in music) but it is worth listening to Hot Rain's album.
It is a pity however that voice of Iwona wasn't really shown. The potential of the vocalist was lost in the steady singing and similar melodic lines. If the "Rights of Love" would be done as well carefully from the linguistic and vocal way as from visual and musical we could have a really good album. But maybe it is better that it happened this way; there is more possibility that in the future we well get the ablum vene better than "Rights of Love".
In the meantime I really recommend rights of love.
