Skeptical Minds - Skepticalized
Skeptical Minds was founded in June 2002 in Belgium and has already achieved quite a success there.
However, in Poland, it is not accomplished yet. Their music is a well balanced mixture of 3 influences: melodic female vocals, electro-industrial, and metal riffs. The compositions placed on the album are really praiseworthy and everything is "buttoned up". Considering the fact that it is already their second record, they did not disappoint their fans, treasured after their debut release. And something more, we must mention the fact that the vocalist of the band is a Pole: Karolina Pacan. The rest of the band members are: Michel Stiakakis (guitar), Gabriel De Nizza (drums), Patrice Brugneaux (bass guitar), Thomas Dewandre (cello).
The album contains pieces which are melodic as bird singing ("Command me", "Don't wake up"), as well as bat-like darkness ("Don't tell"), but still there are some compositions with a guitar ardour (i.a. the guitar solo in "Inertia").
The cello and the acoustic guitar (emphasised in "Broken Dolls") also sound pretty good. We will not find a poor piece in here really. One which would not fit the whole thing, as there's something about each of them which makes it simply pleasurable to listen. All this, buttered with Karolina's vocal, makes an unusual blend of sounds.
To put it in a nutshell: Highly Recommended!
