Blue Note is mainly familiar to real enthusiasts of the jazz sessions. This time a group of musicians presenting totally different style of music were invited to perform there.

For a start, My Sweet Torment gave their show. The band's members were wearing diabolical masks that a random black metal band could be jealous of. They treated us to a dynamic show consisting of the tracks from their latest release. Such pieces as "Lust" and "Suicide" were by all means included in the set. Intensive drums supported by three guitars along with male death metal vocals, complemented by outsatndingly melodic beginnings of particular tracks, which were indecently catchy, made a powerful whole that was literally rooting to the ground. Nontheless, some parts including keyboards, as well as occasional singing of the band's female vocalist, spoiled the overall impression, making the group sound just like hundreds of average gothic-metal bands.



Motherstone, in turn, gave an extraordinarily coherent and energetic show. There was a very strong voice of the female singer, enriched by a lively male growl. Well-sounding and wonderfully matched drums and two guitars, without any dispensable musical ornaments. The band succeeded to convey an ineffable load of energy. Not only the musicians were standing on stage, but they laso managed to get themselves involved in the interaction with the audience, additionally coming off the scene to the gathered during particular fragments of their songs. At times, the associations with hardcore matel were inevitable. It was clrealry visible there were a perfect match.

At last came time for the headliner.

The members of Theatres des Vampires evoke a sort of interest with the mere image of theirs and while topping it of with the specific sound they have on offer, we get the essence of this very band. Taking an example from the series of books written by Anne Rice, their distinctive feature is the ability to create an uncopiable atmosphere. Since umpteen years they have been propheting the gloomy truth of that Paris-located lair of dark entities, simultanouesly promoting an intriguing and twisted atmosphere of that very place.
Everyone daring enough to visit Blue Note on one Wednesday evening was given an one-of-a-kind chance to experience the exceptionailty of Theatres des Vampires. The group appeared with their full dark allure. The artists did not hide the fact they had arrived at the club to gain the control over the souls of the gathered. Theatres des Vampires are distinguishable among other bands of the genre, due to the presence of Sonya Scarlet, whom male part of the audience simply adore, accompanied by four band mates. Her outfit undoubtedly spoke volumes as far as her overall being controversial is concerned. Since the very first tacts the crowd of mortals got enchanted by a combination of Sonya's attire, her captivating vocals, post-mortem masks of the musicians and thoroughly melodic instrumental parts, whose influence was very difficult to overcome.

The complex parts of keyboards, two guitars and the drums, and an interesting, contantly changing voice of Sonya instantly filled up the concert hall.
The concert would not have been complete if it was not for a hallmarked burning artifact and fake blood which was coming out of the vocalist's mouth, yet it was noticeable that in comparison to the group's last year's performance at the Castle Party Festival, the band gladly grasped the chance to play in a club, where they could fully present their overwhelming sound. People were not discouraged by the support of electronics, heavy guitar riffs were skillfully complementing the whole and Sonya was simply alluring with her very charm and personality.
The artisits perfectly interacted with the audience; one of the pieces was even performed with a little help of the fans, to their joy. If the show lacked anything, it was solely far too little complex vocals, yet it did not bother anyobody whatsoever. A range of doomed anthems will surely stay in our memories and the unquanchable appetite for yet another mass of darkness conducted by Theatres des Vampires was by all means wheted by this performance. Theatres des Vampires is first and foremost the attention-attracting Sonya Scarlet who is a real scenic animal. Thanks to her, everthing that rots and decays, can turn out to be as seducing as to tempt everyone, unaware of the danger, to the perils of darkness, as if a moth enticed by a single ray of light.
It was worth to attend the concert, if only to acquaint yourself with not-that-well-known in Poland - My Sweet Torment and Motherstone - which proved that there is quite a musical potential hidden inside them. With regard to Theatres des Vampires - the band showed they are still in the highest class of specialists that occupy themselves with vampire-related stuff. Their performance was the peak of sacrilegious sounds and moral anarchy.
