CDs catalogue:
Amon Tobin, thought to be one of the showing best promise and simply the best D’ n ‘B musicians [If anyone asked me, I would say it’s rather downtempo or industrial, but nobody asks me…). The Brazilian managed to make his 4th album a continuation of his previous works – however, he doesn’t follow the patterns; evidence – he has lost somewhere the elements of jazz. It’s definitely experimental music. But, what’s not obvious, it’s accessible and light. There are no broken sounds taken out of their contexts, although from time to time they are a bit chaotic. But it’s a controlled chaos. Furthermore, it’s alternating all the time with perfect harmony. What is interesting is that somehow it’s highly climatic, what is rather rare among this sphere. Personally I liked very much the rhythm of that album – related with jazz, once vanishing, and another time perfect, even fascist. A great example can be the piece “Triple science”, in which the absence of rhythm is noticeable when it has already come back, not earlier. It’s difficult to explain that to someone who has never heard any works of Amon Tobin. Here you have some pieces which will make your feet move and also some that could make you hang yourself with no regret. Very interesting artist, very interesting publishing house and very interesting music. I recommend that album mostly to those who would like to go deeper into the world of electro different from was ever before. The door to the world of IDM/D’n’B/Breakbeat is wide opened for you!!
