'Waveform' is a fresh dose of an electro/sythpop sounds of Carved Souls (released on 6. of April by german label Conzoom Records). Four Californian musicians composed 12 original songs in basic edition and 4 more bunus tracks for extender ver.

The 'Broken Soul' starts the CD with a rythmic electro with a drop of dark, deep vocals. In my opinion music doesn't fully coresspond to the lyrics. Despite of this fact the composition is so great and the contrast goes to the background and doesn't matters so much.
'It's Not The End' sounds a little bit like an old And One with deeper, psychodelic vocal section. The track brings peace and pushes listener to the deep reflection. It gives also hope for better future despite of casual misfortune.
Next bass track 'Lost Inside' is focused on vocal FX section. Lot of reverb and choral effects intrduces atmosphere of peace. Listener feels like flowing on the soundwave.
The "Box" seems to be shallow, but really energetic stack. It seems somehow familiar to me, but I can't associate it with anything. Perhaps it feelt so because strong accent of band's characetristic sound accented at the initial tracks.
It's time to track, that is strongly inspired by Depeche Mode – 'Taste Of Imagination'. Electronic sound and muffled reverbed vocals totally fits DM style. I think it's a really plucky experiment. I think that it might not appeal to legendary band's fans. One more time listener can melt it deep vocalize. Similiar sound could be found in 'Dream Of You', which was released as a promoting single.
'Dependant', 'Feel', 'She's All Alone' and 'Tonight Is Free' are in my opinion typical dance tracks, which could be appreciated at the dark independent events. Listening to them makes me imagine delicate light and people flowing at the dancefloor with high passion in rythmic trance. My personal fav is the 'Feel'. Its possitive energy makes me forget aboud the whole world.
'Some Other Time' is an electronic experiment, that falls back form the original LP's concept. Ambient and sythesizer sections create a strange atmosphere, which I can't simply describe. Vocals are totally different from the other arrangemenst. The song differs form the every other single track, but it is a conscious experiment I think. It's made to attract listener to the whole album. Anyway, great work!
Last but not least – 'Waveform'. The track is the quitessence of band's genius. Rythmic, strong beat and booming synth path makes the listener drown in a deep but peaceful voice and flow like a title wave od sound, that leads him to pure relaxation. It's the best track of whole LP. Pure sunthpop masterpiece, that ranks even better that NamNamBulu, recently reviewed by me.

I highly recommend getting to know this work from Carved Souls. If you need a nice and relaxing evening, 'Waveform' and good wine will definitely give it to you. With a clear conscience I have to say that describing of this work was a pure pleasure, and certainly some of the song will find their place on my personal playlist.
