Listening to the new album of Hurts you can admire not so much the content, but the form and clarity of sound. Already the first title track Exile, made ​​me realize that band is finally saying goodbye to the shortcomings and somewhat trashy inspiration from the previous album. A slender and much more darker electronics gives hope to a whole new quality. Exile is actually an outstanding piece. When it comes to other compositions of that class, I will point an equally brilliant The Road and Mercy. There are plenty of brilliant sounds. There is also a room for vocal parade. Even harder and more rhythmically it gets thanks to Cupid. Combination of guitars and synthesizers works here perfectly. Energy and eroticism of composition should easily knock down on the shoulders all the faithful fans of Depeche Mode. In turn, atmospheric and spatial ballad The Crow raises associations with the Wicked Game by Chris Isaak. Miracle single also deserves praise. Ideal proportions between emotional singing and guitar background.
A little bother me only two tracks: Blind and Only You, which spoil a little the sophisticated climate of the record by their banality.
It does not affect significantly the overall perception, because it is a well thought and well produced album.
