Despite the fact "The Loser" is just a second album of Klonavenus, one can already clearly hear their distinctive sound. After listening to the title track, opening the album, I could not resist comparing the band to my mate’s favorite saying: "the taste of the 80ies". Indeed, there is something so sonorous about the track that it makes you do the tango at once… Samples, interlaced in quite an exquisite manner, do not let the beat, which additionally emphasizes the importance of musical background, (literally) beat them.
DJ Chemnitz, who is mostly known from heating up the dance floors playing EBM, industrial or gothic music, has shown that moving on regardless of people’s opinion is a matter of fact. He sticks to his rules and aims and that is why I appreciate him.
Endless – the next track from the record. I have no idea why I associated its vocals with the ones of Andy from Icon of Coil. Milder parts of his vocals state that DJ Chemnitz is very serious about his singing and, moreover, he does it surprisingly well. I cannot say I was brought to my knees after having listened to the track for the first time, yet its rhythm managed to stay in my mind. At times one can clearly hear inspirations taken from bands like Haujobb, Dive or VNV Nation. The next three tracks on the record are remixes of ‘The Loser’. Appraising a remix is a pretty tough thing to do as, usually, you love it or hate it. Everything depends on a taste and sophistication of a person who is actually doing a particular remix. Sometimes it turns out the remix outweighs the original with its artistry.
Dismantled RMX, no euphoria, as far as I am concerned there was no effort made while remixing. Just 2/10. Autodafeh RMX – its beginning brought back a memory about Madonna’s "Material Gril" and introduced some mysterious elements, which further revived in a chorus, making the track gather speed, not to forget about those magic synths… 6/10 The one who got the most of it was Ginger Snap5. His was a proper definition of a remix – the track gained a new sound, which gives fundamentally different aural impressions. 8/10 for an idea.

In general, I recommend the release to everyone eager for music which is different and simultaneously perfect to have fun to.
