Phosgore is a one-former industrial rave/noise band started by the club DJ – Florian Dietz and Sonja (only live acts) in 2008. A characterestic feature of Dietz is a strong and fast beat, that makes most bored clubbers dance. Former of the band has more than 10 years of experience in industrial music, so he definitly knows what do people want to hear and dance to.
In 2009 Phosgore released the debut album 'Domination', which found many fans. Lot of club DJs also appreciated Dietz's work. Personally I used the track 'Club domination' in one of my music sets. The CD includes 12 original tracks and 5 remixes, performed by such famous artists as SAM or [X]-RX.
Unfortunately after the first Phosgore's LP we can't expect ambitonous vocals or instrumental sections, because there are none of them. As the vocals Flo used verses of german movies and the melodic parts are based on industrial sounds. You won't find any romantic voices or dark clothes in this record.
In my opinion there are 4 good songs: 'Club domination', 'Smite the weak', 'Killerherz' and 'Hardcore shit'. They stay for a long time in a listeners memory because of high melodies and really dropped hard bass beats. Some of these are so strong, they can make your lungs tremlbe. This kind of music is definitly NOT created to listen while drinking a morning tea. Most of all LP's songs sound very similar, the only difference is in 'melody' which is currently served. Anyway you can always expect a hard beat that takes all of the old club beer drinkers straigh to the dance floor and never let anybody to stay at the walls.
'Domination' is believed to be one of the most succesful releases in 2009 in the industrial/noise genre. Fans see it as one of the greatest discovery in electric music and even compare Phosgore to Noisuf-X (which is certainly an inspiration) and also consider as the future of this kind of music. Personally I'm not a huge fan of noise and rave, but genre-lovers surely shouldn't miss this CD.
