When I listened to „Ax Libereld” for the first time I didn't know what to think. I didn't know how to classify, systematize or compare Psychotropic? I haven't found an answer until now and I think it's the best recommendation one may give to the group.
Let's start from the brief characteristic of the group. Psychotropic Transcendental was created in Bielsko -Biała in 2000. Since then it has operated actively on the alternative music underground scene. Basically, if something may be called alternative music, PT will be in the first 10 on the alternative list Already the first recording of.
„Ax Libereld...” announces that the rest of the material will be hard. The album is not metal or rock in its climate, although the musical base is constituted by guitars, drums and typical rock instrumentarium . The album is 'flowing' to such an extent that at times it becomes trance. It's a strange combination, difficult to describe in words, but everyone who will listen to the album at least once will get the point. The climate is obviously one of the factors which build the effect -gloomy and sultry, intensified by one of the most original vocals I've ever heard. It's original not for its tone, which for sure is good, but the way of singing. Starting from quiet groans, through whispers and sights to the screams and black metal croaks. And here is the greatest surprise -he sings in his... own language. The band invented their speech which has its origin in German and Slavonic dialects. I may assure -it makes an enormous impression.
In what other way I could describe Ax Libereld”...? Trance, magical, climatic, original, genial. I must admit this is one of the best alternative productions I've ever heard. Beautiful music, produced perfectly [digipack with multimedia extra, where you may find i.a. lyrics translations]. Generally speaking - great. I'm looking forward to the next Psychotropic Transcendental 's longplay, because I know I won't be disappointed.
