Lately, more and more bands depart from playing heavy music and try to experiment with softer dance rhythms. Ad Inferna may serve as an example. It began as a blackmetal group from France who recently started to serve mixture of electronic sounds which combines gothic and industrial genre. The newest release of the group -"DSM" is an intense entrance to psychoanalysis through music – there is ebm, elektro and dark wave elements.
The gentle intro "Premices" based on sounds of soothing piano and ominous whispering in the ear about multiple personality disorder (MPD) is followed by "Omnisciene" because of which you cannot seat still and the legs are raring to dance. And that’s how it looks till the end of this album. Do not expect slower music parts, only fast beats suitably spiced up by electronic. Everything is on the highest level, not only in the means of tempo but also of the performance. Next tracks form coherent entirety and each one is an access to indefinite world of various psychological disorders. The atmosphere is nearly as from madhouse. The therapy of laying the demons of the past results in memorising songs which cannot be forgotten. Despite the fact that the musicians from Ad Inferna change their music style still they keep the perfect shape of performance and it’s appropriate intensification. It is a successful metamorphosis but remembering how they played in the old days bring tears to my eyes.
