The band Ataraxia which have existed since the late 80s, served us a mature, emotional album once again. It's their 20th one. After the success of their previous release „Paris Spleen”,which was presented at last year's Wave Gotik Treffen, it's certain that the new one will not fail the expectations of an average listener who lives in a dull reality. The music of Ataraxia may bring even the most unimaginative to the mythic world introduced by the vocalist Francesca Nicoli, who had been given exceptional, strong and extremely magical voice.

The album is opened by a mysterious piece „The Song Of Axieros” about a Greek god of the underworld. Next we're drifting from one song to another and we get the energetic soundscapes like „The Nine Rituals” or beautiful, melancholic ones e.g the title „Kremasta Nera”, and quietening, fabulous „Efestia”, „Fengari” or „Migratio Animae”. It's also worth to pay attention to „Ebur” - anxious, full of fire and „Gria Vartha” rich in interesting, dynamic sounds and also to my personal fave „Wings (I Had Once)” which features dramatic vocal and beauty hidden in the sound of the piano.

I recommend the album to those who feel like seeing the beautiful, ancient world which Ataraxia want to present us.
