Clouds by Night is existing on the music scene since year 2004, but just recently their managed to release the debut album. On "Just Buried" that musical quartet presents dark music combined with a specific, Mediterranean sadness.
The first track - "Boundless" touches the process of dying with its physical dimension, introducing at the same time to the spiritual realm of feelings. It also presents the rejection of a mortal world, as a guarantor to achieve the state of reconciliation with yourself. "Disobey", in turn, encourages to be defiant and to seek your own path, urging at the same time to take possession of the ancient, mythical lands and invites toward darkness, because nothing is, as it seems. It is followed by "Dreaming" that is a praise of following your dreams and to not looking back. It also underlines the importance of being true to both your nature and inner feelings. "Luciferian" is a poignant lament of a soul abandoned by God. It also expresses the regret for a long lost, and a belonging paradise. It gives a sense of being discriminated by the Creator and desire to regain your rights. Then it is placed "Demon Calling" which focuses on the invocation of demons in a dark room, filled only by candlelights, amid the falling stars. "The Mind Stimulates" is an interesting journey of the mind through new places, characterized by so far unknown colors. It gives a way to will of going in far, unknown regions. And "New Dawn" expresses disappointment, at the same time hoping to wait for a new dawn, that is supposed to rise and drive away the pain. And there comes "Way To Nothing", which maps the feelings associated with separation from a loved one. This puts the question why to continue living and to last. "Suicidal" is a grim record of the allegations being made to yourself, the inability of forcing you to forgive yourself. It confronts the spiritual dilemmas of painfully disappointing reality and the taking of a decision to make the final choice.
The album ends with "Empty Shell" - a shocking description of what remains after taking such an extreme step - literally an empty shell…
Fabulous, atmospheric album without unnecessary beautification that addresses important topics related to the meaning of life and death. It leads to thinking, and at the same time shows that it is not worth to implement any dramatic solutions. It does not escape easily in melodrama, but states wise questions.
