It’s hard to believe that it was Poland where the group Deathcamp Project was found, by two musicians known under the nicknames of Betrayal and Void. The band combines elements of deathrock, gothic rock and electronic music. The musicians have two demos on their account: End (2001) and Wired (2002), a record Well-Known Pleasures (2008), EP Laxa(C)tivE (2004) and seXimeR (2007).
The mini album seXimeR is a collection of remixes with participation of C.H. District (Pl), Controlled Collapse (Pl), H_12 (Pl), Kobylinski (Pl), Krzysztof Michalak (Pl), Forgotten Sunrise (Est), Gray/Scale (Ua). The album opens with Rule and Control, surely one of the best known songs of the project. The next ones are Behind and Divine Words. For the whole album exactly these three tracks are interweaving together.
Deathcamp Project is a band on whose albums we could always hear electronic sounds. On SeXimeR fans will surely miss Void’s guitar and Bertayal’s bass. SeXimeR is pure electronics. Strong, firm sounds, driving into trance, almost drilling a whole in the head.
The most one to my liking was a remix of Rule and Control Gray/Scale. Catchy, melodic with Void’s classic vocal. The female fans won’t surely feel a lack of it. Slightly changed, In few moments bringing to mind the tracks from Laxa(C)tivE.
Behind in Forgotten Sunrise’s remix presents really great. One can say that it is one of more successful pieces on this CD. If I were to choose the best version of Divine Words I would pick H_12’s mix.
The rekord will surely be to liking of those who like to have fun. It’s perfect for the parties. Since the first time steps you cannot keep your place. However, I’ll wait for the next album of Deahcamp Project, on which, except Void’s voice, I can delight myself with catchy guitar play combined with electronics.
