"FallOut Nation" is the second record of a German band Ext!ze - this is how this review should be started in the simpliest way possiblle. However, writing about Ext!ze itself may have been too boring an introduction and would not suit the band whatsoever. This German quartet is constantly doing its best to capture not only a listener's attention, but also the one of a spectator or viewer. The music and their image are equally important to them, which is not overly characteristic feature of the musicians related to electro music and similar genres.
I turned FallOut Nation on and heard familiar sounds of the latin chant "O Fortuna". That was not a mistake of mine but the beginning of "Poser", a track which is one of the best off this record. I had a great pleasure listening to the whole album, full of dynamics, darkness and light. The biggest surprise was... a ballad. "We Are the Night (feat. Nexus)" is the last track on the relase and it does have a magic sound, subtle and full of sorrow. The faster version of the song, which was also included on the record, sounds slightly worse, but I dare say it is just a subjective opinion. One should pay attention to a real party-track - "Sex Propagand", as well as "Aerial Zombies". Is it worth immersing in the neon glamor of Ext!ze? In my opinion it is by all means worth a try. The journey with "FallOut Nation" really appealed to me.
Tracklist:
