The latest album released by La Chanson Noire via Necrosymphonic Records is their third one but also the last one. Despite the growing number of fans they decided to finish their creative work. This is one of the reasons for this album to be more precise than the previous ones, and most of all it sums up everything what La Chanson Noire is and it is supposed to be a great dose of not only music but also art, for posterity.
The Project is entitled "Macumba Stereo." Why? Charles Sagnoir admits that this name is associated to his private life in which the motif of macumbeira appears pretty often and music is magic like voodoo.
(Macumbeira is a person playing the instrument called Macumba. The word is also used with reference to a person practising spiritistic acts.)
The sound of dark kabaret and gothic rock makes this album exquisite. The album contains material including previous tracks released as demo and singles. It is not surprising that the fans of this music are more and more numerous. There are also a lot of prominent guests on this album such as writer David Soares, Jorge Bruti, Phil Mendrix and the star of Cabaret Noire, Joe Black. Some of the already known tracks are presented in a new version. Each element creating this work is and art in itself.
La Chanson Noire is undoubtedly unique in the world of music. It is proved by the fact that the project is known not only in Portugal but also worldwide. Despite the end of activity the year 2013 will be still full of concerts. Later Charles surely may be seen with some other projects.
