Plastic People - Good as you

From the very first to the very last minute of "Good as You" I could not resist the impression that the author wanted to compose something from the boderline of The Cure and an 8-bit music. If that was what he was aiming at, he by all means managed to accomplish it, yet it should be emphasized that the sound of automatic drums can be tiresome in the long run.
The best and the clearest tracks can be found at the beginning of the record. Not much of a novelty, nontheless, the concept is definitely efficient. "Time desolation", "Candid Soul" and "My Prous", did just the right thing, that is - they managed to get me immeresed in the process of listening.
The further we go, the more... bizarre it truns. As it can be distinctly heard that one piece bears little resemblance to another; despite the fact, they are frighteningly similar, they may appear as one sequence of tunes. I was even thinking about stating that it may be a proof of a sort of cohesion present throughout the album, yet somewhere nearby the regions of "Strange Body" I began to withdraw from it - only short and instrumental intervals remained as the turning points. If you ever happen to want to hum a part with vocals or recall a melodic line from one of the pieces... Well... Speaking about the former - it constitutes quite a problem, as there is a shortage of such lines (that is the vocals, or I'd better say - speaking, stay the same and unchanged), the latter is almost possbile to do, but only after confing the choice of pieces to the most melodic "Candid Soul" or "Freedom Inside", which is equally interesting due to the samples of a female voice. But I am also not positive about it.
Bearing in mind all of my assertions, I would mark the release as a technical one - each track, analized separately, is truly otstanding in its form. Many interesting musical solutions and bridges can be found on it. The record should be to the liking of every fan of the genre and ordinary lovers of electronica. I dare to compare the album to a box of chocolates - every single one fo them is capable of surprising you but after finishing the whole box at once, the overall taste will unluckily blend, rendering the whole slightly sickening.
