After a two-year break, a rolling stone duo SAM is back with a new release "Brainwasher", undoubtedly to the joy of each and every lover of decently crunching sounds. Joel Meyer and Daniel Meyer, who are responsible for above-mentioned project, prove once again that they know a lot about noise and, moreover, they can use this knowledge in a very effective way. The album itself, containing loads of extraordinary, musically destructive properties, literally ruffles the tranquillity of the mind. Eager to feel that peculiar feeling of losing the sobriety of mind in favor of relishing musical chaos? I invite you on a ride through the land of sound called "Brainwasher".

In thirteen tracks the duo presents its idea for an exemplary noisy music: it is loud, dynamic and uncompromising. It is worth paying attention to the titles: the Meyers did not pride themselves on remarkable invention regarding the titles - just ordinary, standard relations to some classic, industrial ‘motives’ are present on the release: amongst them all sorts of variation on the f-word, "murder" or simply some references to phenomena generally perceived as ‘immoral’ and ‘demoralizing’. Why do I mention about the issue of titles? For I am simply bored to death with a lack of creativity in this field, probably no band will ever come up with something revelatory and original, after all, it is much safer to stick to run-of-the-mill themes.

Constituting a sort of introduction, "Warning" is a track which literally warns against prospective, harmful influence of SAM’s sounds on the listener’s mentality. Next track, "Halluzinogen", from the start overwhelms with its harsh beat, gradually enforcing its musical attack with synthetic tones. A single promoting the record, "Bull Fucking Shit" in an unusually representative track, concerning the core of the band’s music. Next in line, "Mad As Hell", "Murder Inc." and "Name and Number" overwhelm your sense of hearing with their clear rhythm and pulsating beats, setting in motion almost every limb. Outwardly gentler "Psychic Driving" and "Corporate Violate" let you catch your breath for a moment, similarly "Interoception", blending disturbing, pseudo-industrial sounds with ambient-like atmosphere. Although put off our guard, we are at once drastically waken up by "S-R", then "Mindfuck" – a track which will exceed the critical point of our tolerance, mercilessly storming the very depths of our minds with its ever-lasting, raw beats. The last track, "MKSEARCH", reflects the overall sound of the album in an excellent way – every faultlessly composed tone becomes one, summarizing piece of music, whose end is marked, tongue-in-cheek, by a thank-you for all listeners for getting through the record.

"Brainwasher" does not disappoint – everything sounds exactly in the very way it was expected to sound. Thirteen new tracks will leave your mind blank, musically exploited to the limit. The album is aimed at (not)only orthodox enthusiasts of devastatingly electronic sounds.
