Still Patient? - Selective Perception
Returns after many years are not necessarily are successful. But In my opinion, it is excellent return.
After 15 years from the abyss of oblivion, came out with new material the band Still Patient?
The singer's voice hasn't deteriorated. More, in my opinion, the voice of Andy Koa is even more interesting.
His voice is more mature and deep. Andy's voice didn't lose with youthful aggressiveness, even predation and dynamics.
Change of musicians of the band allowed the choosing of new musical paths, but firmly based on the history and fascination of the music team.
We are hearing the echoes old masters: The Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim, The Mission.
January 31, 2014 we received a new music product produced by Dark Dimensions, EP "Selective Perception"
This four new songs and one referring to the past of the team.
No. 4 "ANAVRYN II" is a new version of the song released in 1992, CD music "Salamand".
This is the ideal material for fans of raw guitar sounds related of gentle sounds of electronic music and pronounced sometimes even dominant rhythm section. This is accompanied by the ability to mild the transition between instruments. Tambourine often emphasizes the vocals of Andy in the choruses. The band skillfully builds the mood and gently performed their change.
Ideal example is second of track list "IMPACT". Beautiful and calm start smoothly passes to strong guitar sound and drums.
In the half of the song the band builds extraordinary mood, sudden silence and after the while... The explosion of sounds. This is excellently!
In the First on the album "ALL IS WELL" surprise in the first seconds is delicate electronics. However, I couldn't fathom such a sounds and build around them mood because my mind was captured by rhythms of drums and guitars voices.
Tambourine as usual excellently support to Andy's voice in the chorus.
The third song, "SCREAMING RED ROSES" begins strong, like in The Sisters of Mercy start drumming.
Tambourine supports voice Andy's, soothing heavy sound of guitars.

The successful combination of the original version with modern accomplishments.
The new version is shorter by over two minutes from the original. In this time Andy's voice is expressive, strong and deep.
In my opinion, new version is better.
Latest on the album "THE BROOD OF LIARS" starts the quiet electronics, similar to the "ALL IS WELL".
In contrast to the first song in this album, this track to be quieter. But accompanied him no less insistent guitars than in other songs.
At the end of the song a surprising nods to the electronics and the… sudden sound of silence.
This surprising end leaves a feeling of dissatisfaction.
Why is this end of album?
Is presented EP sets the future direction of music of the band?
