Surgyn - Envy
So far, Surgyn was responsible for undeniable pleasure that was the opportunity of dealing with their debut – "Vanity". Since now, fans of unconventional sound from the border of electro and industrial have a long awaited chance to familiarize themselves with its successor - "Envy".
As a result of consequent continuation of direction chosen on the previous release, album introduces to the interesting solutions in a matter of presented sound. However, what attracts attention the most, is juicy beat and biting lyrics.
Group on the latest material focuses on envy and its various embodiments. New album is guided by a deceitful motto contained in "Artifice (intro)": "You are a product. Sell yourself ". It is followed by such intense tracks as "Limousine" and "Stiletto" that define the band’s flagship fast pace. "Green Heart" is a kind of a specific anthem for fans. It brightens sound space with an exceptional in its kind inner radiance.
Interestingly in this company falls out very dark in tone "Kings Of Crows" and its dense layers.
"Needles" is downright brutal. Extremely sharp rhythm combined with twisted vocals influences directly the brain waves. It is followed by "Insidious", which is initially rapid, almost without a respite, more or less in the middle turns into a grim and excruciating track. When it becomes almost too beautiful, there comes volte and another acceleration with a kick.
"Hollywood Death Scene" keeps the sinister atmosphere, introducing almost catastrophic overtone. Whereas "Melancholia" as a very nostalgic song, it is at the same time very gloomy, while bearing a certain trait of pop music within.
Keeping distance to themselves and skillful use of instruments while creating each of the compositions, are the trademark of Surgyn. New formula shows at the same time both maturation process of the band, and additionally emphasizes explosiveness of the whole material, which is characterized by a hellish pace and bold, spiteful sound. Tones incline to a wild party - dynamic, pulsating rhythm and sometimes dark, atmospheric mood, are suitable for the task.
