If there’s a gothic band that is predestined for the ‘Zombie’ theme, then it is for sure Untoten (the Undead), who earned this ‘honour’ with their black romantic songs and albums such as ‘die Blutgräfin’, ‘Die Nonnen von Loudun’, ‘Die schwarze Feder’ or with their so far latest album ‘Liebe oder Tod’ (among others).
But with ‘ZOMBIE’ the Untoten are – once again – breaking new ground. They abandoned the ‘Pop-gothic-heaven’ and enter now the depts of a cold world. A world after the apocalypse, in which the bottom is the top, a world beyond good and evil, in which humans mutated into ZOMBIES, reduced, solely for fight and die, eat or be eaten. The sound is raw, electronic, cold and destructive. On the side exist little stories, sad, dark and romantic but barely comforting two survivors of the disaster communicate by radio. The man falls in love with the female voice, is looking for her to realize at the end that she is a ZOMBIE - A little ZOMBIE-girl mutates into a drowned corpse, people chained her under-water, but she can escape and searches for her family - A woman can’t kill her husband – who is mutated into a ZOMBIE, and now holds him in chains To cut the short stories even shorter: Nice little stories to narrate to your children under the christmas tree ehm. Also this new UNTOTEN opus is being released in two parts: Zombie I (Die Welt Danach) and Zombie 2 (The Revenge).Released on Von Grafenwald and available November 21th, 2011.
