- IV WROCŁAW INDUSTRIAL FESTIVAL - 2005-12-09
The Gothic Hall in Wrocław is one of those places, where there’s some kind of invisible amazing atmosphere In the air. The chuch adapter for organization of partie is truly impressive, and Industrial Festival is an event, which with its exquisite atmosphere matches up with the beauty of the church interior.
Merely after ente ring the Benue it was hard to move towards the stage because of quite large amount ofparticipants, and they was more and more of them coming in.
Prawatt:
There was something touching about this serene experimental music. The audiencje was pitting on the floor, and some with half-closed eyes where acquiring a dose of this, which was presented by the three men wearing black shirts decorated with clerical collars. The Polish formation makes sounds using analogue methods. There are generators and filters here. Their music Hanning round ambient was a beautiful introduction inaugurating Saturday festival evening.
Flint Glass:
There comes a Man onto the stage, wearing a mask but a really untypical one. Probably leather, bringing to mind possibly Predator. But the Visual side is not all. Flint Glass showed, that he knows what he’s doing. Ambient / industrial / noise passe on In a great form of predefined sounds. It was raw, it was loud, it was really good. The project from France brought energy combined with ambient atmosphere and it should certainly be noticed among all projects performing at this year’s Ind Fest, and not just for his mask.

Sutcliffe Jugend:
It was loud – that for sure. Unfortunately after that the formation did not carry in much. Nevertheless if you like this kind of extreme music, then you should definitely go and see them live. One could think that the guitarist was "playing" only not to stand idly with the guitar. The singing of the vocalist can’t really be called singing – this is the easiest way to describe what was presented by Kevin Tomkins. Few lyrics of songs hardly spotted from the vocal screams could also cause the listener’s involuntary question: what the hell are they doing on stage? But here we have one small ‘but’. In spite of all banging at the strings pell-mell plus screams to the microphone can also be called music, which will find its group of fans among audience, this happened this time too.
Knifeladder:
Exactly this type of music I was expecting Chile going to industrial festival. There was no show, no amazing visuals, but tere was this something, what should emerge from music and it was here. Something interesting that encouraged to come up to the stage and listen. All sounded clear. Absorbing arrangements of pieces, a mixture of inustrial power with some undescribable tranquillity pounding from the English band, plus permeating delicate voices of Johna Murphy and Andrew Trail. Knifeladder is a type of formation, which sounds as well live as on record, or maybe even better.

Psychic TV:
The time has come for a shock and I mean it in the best issue! This remarkable band focused whole public’s attention on themselves. No wonder, the vocalist’s character itself causes sensation. 59- year-old now Genesis P-Orridge not only surprises with the outfit, but also his behaviour on stage. His movements, simply insane look, gave an impression of trance. His voice was not disappointing either. After so many years of performances P-Orridge is still in the form to give shows, what is more he is made to do so. Let’s not forg et about the Rest of the band. The guitarist should be singled out here, causing admiration with his great solo parts, and grace with which he was handling his guitar proved his undeniable talent. Now add the keyboardist’s energy and her charakteristic movements behind the board, and the rest of them, it all created unusual atmosphere.
Musically it was amazing. Hypnotic rock, sometimes harsher, with industrial tint, and a moment after melodious and calm. Thanks to the live instruments In the hands of right people, who know how to handle them perfectly, and that, de facto the concert being played in church, where voice always spreads well, everything sounded terrific. In addition eye-catching visuals, frankly controversial, whereas they showed i.a. P-Orridge after plastic surgeries.
Exaggerated shocking is always something hysterical, but In case of Psychic TV it is inseparable part having its source rather in the vocalist’s nature. Fortunately it comes together with the music, chich is well performed, thus the visual side is just an add-on. One way or another the impression is extraordinary. No matter how long the concert would last, you still want more. Great applause inflated the Gothic Hall. The applause, which Psychic TV irrevocably deserved.
There is a Hing about Industrial Festival that it gathers together in the Gothic Hall people who come there for the music itself. Here there’s nothing like hypocrisy, stupid and artificial self-creation consisting in fashion show. In such kind of events there’s a spirit. We can thank the organizers for they have created such an original thing and that we have a Chance to participate in this industrial play, which delights with variety of sounds. Now we must only wait for the next edition of Industrial Festival.
