Amnistia was created in 2003, in Leipzig thanks to Stefan Schoetz and Tino Claus. They create their own mature EBM variation, that they are accustomed to call "bodywave" which is aptly associated with their music.
Egotrap is the third album in their career and I have to admit, that they stick to their old style. But for me it is still the same record and I do not see any progress after three years from editing the previous one. A good part, and it can be boast, are dynamic drums.
The opening track 'Init4 + Sermon' is like an intro, that let us enter by experimental electronic and screams. In my opinion the best track is 'Faceless', very rhythmic, it would be a pleasure to hear it on the dance floor. The whole is full of dark vocals and lyrical ecstasy. An important moment on the disc is the 'Day of Birth', which was originally an instrumental version. It is good, that there was added vocal, so that solemnity and importance of this text for Stefan was immortalized, because it was created to commemorate the birth of his first son. Noteworthy is also the title one 'Egotrap' where with its sublimity it can be felt a real musical pain.
I think the tracks should not be judged in turn. I would recommend a complete listening to the album, because then it could be felt the penetration of the gloomy lyrics, with the dance compositions. There are none imperfections, it is a very neatly ripped production. What dominates is a drumming bass rhythm, and tempo changes so it does not allow to lose the rhythm. 'Egotrap' can be liked despite the fact, that there is nothing surprising, comparing to previous releases of Amnistia.
