A debut of three young musicians from France, under a flashy name Bodysnatchers is a blend of a few music styles. From lovers of black & white DM's magic, I have heard that a piece "The Ninth Floor" is created in an atmosphere of the DMs album with a rose 'Violator' and that is only one of many faces of this record. A balanced electric-rock mixture of new wave without hard guitar riffs and with a distinctive, warm and each time expressed differently male's vocal. 'The Ninth Floor' begins the album, which according to a message that we would discover later, gives an impression of a film projection in an old cinema, the whole record gives this kind of impression. Additionally, on the track number 8 you can hear a great cover of Suicide 'Ghost Rider' recorded together with Chels, Norm Loy's front man. The last track 'Of Mystery And' lead by a sound of a clear bass guitar and unsettled, desperate voice of Tom (the vocalist of the musical trio) is ending this cinema session.
The way Bodysnatchers is playing is not pretending, it is something it is compelling, mysterious, energising it gives an impression of a dark cinema room in which lots can happen. It is filmography that has a major influence on their music; ideas for music are taken from old movies' soundtracks that have been put into a modern arrangement.
