"The Shadow over Arkham" is the first EP album of Italian project Ilid. It consists of four melodic and easy-to-remember rock songs. The band itself calls it "hard candy" and there is no other way but to agree.
The first song "Envenomation" is in on its right place. The calm beginning goes into energetic refrain making the song the best on the album. The last "Encore" also seems interesting. The voice of the female singer is warm, well combined with the music and makes it a little bit sweeter and more pleasant to listen to. Each one of the tracks is satisfying but unfortunately as a whole it appears monotonous. But let us not be stern; the band has done very well for the debut.
